September 1994 100 Simpson Icons for Windows
Hello fellow simpson-maniacs,
This collection of icons was doodled up using the Norton Desktop Icon
Editor and is in the Norton Icon Library format. These icons are modeled
after characters from "The Simpsons" TV show, Bongo Comics and The Simpsons
trading cards. This collection is the outgrowth of creating unique and weird
icons to replace everybodys E-mail icons at work.
I would appreciate any comments or contributions to the collection. I would
especially like to get image files to use as models. The pictures I'm
currently looking for include:
The Big Book of British Smiles
Maggie with a makeover "from Flaming Moes"
The Simpsons Skeletons "from a Halloween Special"
Any obscure or unique characters
Please send comments to my E-mail address below, as I get a big kick out of
receiving stuff from all over the world.
To Use These Icons
The Norton Icon Library format can be handled like a .DLL file.
2. Click on the icon you want to change ONCE.
3. Go up to FILE and click PROPERTIES.
4. Select CHANGE ICON.
5. Select BROWSE and locate where you put them.
(If they do not show up, make sure you LIST FILES OF
TYPE all files).
6. Select the file you want
7. Select OK.
8. Click on the icon you want and hit OK.
Other Icon Collections
There is another even larger simpsons icon collection by Jeanette Foshee
for Mac's which has been translated for PC's by Tim Anstine. This collection
can be found in the CICA archives as "icosimp3.zip". Look for Jeanette's
planned release of "icosimp4.zip" in October.
Jeanette Foshee can be contacted by E-mail at: x1foshee@exnet.iastate.edu
and Tim Anstine can be contacted at tim@unr.edu
LEGAL STUFF: You may freely distribute this collection of
Simpson icons, provided you distribute them in their
original form with all files intact, give me credit, and
do not charge anything for them.
These icons are free for your enjoyment. So instead of
asking for money (which I couldn't do anyway, as they
are copyrighted characters), all I ask is that if you enjoy
these icons and keep them, please send me either an
e-mail and let me know what you think
of them. I thrive on feedback, and would be interested
in all comments.
